#Tlalnepantla, #Edoméx.- The Mayor of Tlalnepantla, Raciel Pérez Cruz, delivered the comprehensive rehabilitation of the municipal public library ‘Miguel Hidalgo’ located in the town of San Juan Ixhuatepec, in order to provide citizens with a dignified and conditioned building for reading.
The Mayor indicated that since its inauguration, more than 35 years ago, the most important library in Tlalnepantla East had not been maintained, for which reason this administration rehabilitated it and now it has renovated and adapted spaces for consultation.
He expressed that «the promotion of reading is an act of responsibility, reading is part of the formation of individuals, it makes us sensitive, conscious and allows us to access a universe of possibilities».
Waterproofing works, installation of toilets, sinks, mirrors, windows, wooden doors, ceramic tile floors, LED lighting were carried out; outside, the sidewalks were replaced, a fence was built, a solar light was installed, cyclone mesh on the windows, a gate, among other works.
During the inauguration of the library, the mural ‘En el tiempo’ by Nadia Márquez, artist from Tlalnepantla Oriente, was unveiled, and the book ‘Menos bella, más brutal. Nueva Narrativa Mexiquense’, an anthology with 24 urban stories by authors from different municipalities in the metropolitan area.
The inauguration was attended by Jezabel Delgado Flores, Local Deputy; members of the Edilicio Body, heads and directors of the various areas of the administration; Wendolyn Collazo Rodríguez of the collective ‘Grupo 19 de Noviembre’, and Jorge Nicolás Solano, one of the authors of the anthology.
