TecNM students present high-impact social projects at astronautics congress in Dubai

#SecretaríaDeEducaciónPública.- Álvaro Carrizosa Regules and Luis Bobadilla González, students of the Tecnológico Nacional de México (TecNM), Milpa Alta campus, participated, on behalf of Mexico, in the International Astronautics Congress (IAC 2021) in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, where they presented a proposal to transport fuel for satellites and another one for the inclusion of indigenous peoples in aerospace technologies.

In this regard, the Secretary of Public Education, Delfina Gómez Álvarez, has recognized the students of the TecNM for presenting projects of high social impact, for the benefit of the industry, and for encouraging equity and inclusion in education.

The TecNM General Director, Enrique Fernández Fassnacht, commented that the students demonstrated their engineering talent, innovative attitude, creative capacity and social vocation before the brightest minds in astronautics.

The young students were selected since April of this year by IAC 2021 directors, an event organized by the International Astronautical Federation (IAF) to present their papers at the event in Dubai.

The Mexican student, Luis Bobadilla Gonzalez, presented the paper, Reusable Fuel Transport System, which proposes the creation of a space station for maintenance and refueling of satellites in GEO orbit, which can also be used for long duration space missions and as an intermediate base between the earth and the moon.

Bobadilla Gonzalez commented that it was an unforgettable experience to present his paper for the benefit of science before experts in the aerospace field; «the feedback was very important, the suggestions will help me to work on improvements and focus on cost issues, to make it profitable».
