#InstitutoDeSeguridadYServiciosSocialesDeLosTrabajadoresDelEstado.- Adolfo López Mateos» Regional Hospital of the Instituto de Seguridad y Servicios Sociales de los Trabajadores del Estado (ISSSTE), its director, Valentín Herrera Alarcón, informed that a rehabilitation plan was implemented to address and reverse the effects of an aging, disjointed infrastructure that had been abandoned for years.
Valentin Herrera said that through the Executive Project for the Reallocation and Recovery of Spaces, the operating rooms were refurbished and 20 consultation rooms were rehabilitated and recovered out of a total of 117 in a single building.
Actions were also taken to strengthen the teaching infrastructure for the benefit of close to 500 residents, nursing and medical students, undergraduate interns, graduate students and medical interns from eight universities, following the instructions of the General Director, Luis Antonio Ramírez Pineda, to strengthen the human capital in favor of the beneficiaries. The highly qualified health personnel are the hospital’s greatest strength, he said.
Accompanied by the technical secretary of the Oversight Commission, Heriberto Romero Peralta, representing the ISSSTE director general, and the president of the SNTISSSTE CEN, Luis Miguel Victoria Ranfla, and before representatives of all the hospital’s work areas, he announced important achievements such as the strengthening of the Coronary Unit, the opening of the adult cardiac surgery service, the consolidation of the AsISSSTE Infarction program, which fulfills its mission to save lives, and the availability of the Kinevo 900 neurosurgery equipment, the most modern of its kind in the country, to treat difficult neurosurgical pathologies with greater success and less risk.
