#Veracruz, #Ver. – In commemorating the Day of the Mexican Navy, Governor Cuitláhuac García Jiménez expressed his gratitude and pride towards the institution, which has played a decisive role in the security tasks entrusted by President Andrés Manuel López Obrador.
Accompanied by naval and military commanders, as well as civilian authorities, he expressed that the legacy of the Navy will endure and will be remembered as today, which recognizes what was done 196 years ago in defense of the territory of the incipient nation: «the current moments will be renamed in the future and there the Navy will be again doing honor.»
From the Naval Air Base in this city, he said that Veracruz is one of the pillars of the institution, since heroic deeds were consummated here in the consolidation of Independence and, thanks to this, our state is named throughout the country.
In turn, the commander of the First Naval Region, Admiral Santiago Jorge Morgado Gómez, sent a message from the Secretary of the Navy, José Rafael Ojeda Durán, to the members of the Navy: «to correspond to the Mexicans and thank them for the high honor of safeguarding their integrity, freedom and sovereignty».
He said that, from the sea, Mexico began the journey towards a sovereign life and realized the value of having a shield to protect the nation; «the passing of the years has been decisive in giving us experience, operational capacity and a place of trust in the eyes of families».
