SEP carries out an integral work from all of its constituent organizations

#SecretaríaDeEducaciónPública.- The head of the Ministry of Public Education, Delfina Gómez Álvarez, stated that the Ministry works in a comprehensive manner, taking advantage of the strengths of its constituent agencies, as well as their capacity for innovation.

She explained that the National Institute for Adult Education (INEA) continues with the monthly National Examination Application Days, thanks to which, from March to November, 305,598 people throughout the country have completed their literacy, primary and secondary education.

During his appearance before the plenary session of the Chamber of Deputies, Gómez Álvarez added that the National Council for the Promotion of Education (Conafe) carries out its tasks in the most disadvantaged communities.

Its action reaches 55,478 multi-grade and unitary schools, benefiting 566,330 students through the committed action of 58,450 Community Educational Leaders.

For the 2020-2021 school year, 4.4 million books and more than 323 thousand packages of school supplies were delivered.

In addition, educational figures will be trained through the Sembrando Saberes project, in coordination with INEA and the Welfare Secretariat.

He also acknowledged that the National English Program (PRONI) is one of the challenges faced by the Ministry of Public Education to introduce students to the learning of this language, which is still in the process of analysis and evaluation.

Today it reaches a coverage of more than 8 million students in 31,603 public schools.

He also mentioned that indigenous education continues to make progress at the pre-school, preschool and primary levels, with teaching in their mother tongue and in accordance with their environment.
