Issste starts campaign «February, Men’s Health Month»

#ISSSTE. –  With the aim of reinforcing prevention and strengthening self-care among the male population, the general director of the Institute of Security and Social Services for State Workers (Issste), Pedro Zenteno Santaella, announced the campaign «February, Men’s Health Month».

The institute has been promoting this campaign since 2017 in the Health sector, so this year it will resume and increase training and guidance to male beneficiaries to generate preventive actions and reduce premature mortality from non-communicable diseases, he said.

In 2019, the National Population Council (Conapo) recorded that the life expectancy of men was six years less than that of women. In addition, they are the ones who less frequently seek medical consultation due to taboos related to virility and resistance to address health problems, he said.
