Recall consultation will promote good governance, says president; thanks the people for their participation

#GobiernoDeMéxico.- President Andrés Manuel López Obrador celebrated the participation of citizens in the mandate revocation Consultation on April 10; he described this exercise as a historic event that strengthens participatory democracy.

«It was a complete success; people acted very responsibly, millions of Mexicans. (…) We are before a historic event, it is something unprecedented in the history of our country; for the first time a consultation is made to the citizens so that they can decide on the government of the president, the one who continues or the one who leaves, reaffirming that the people are the ones in charge», he underlined.

In a morning press conference, the president said that a good lesson in democracy was given and thanked the support of those who voted for the government of the Fourth Transformation to continue.

«It was a party everywhere. (…) Thank you very much from the bottom of our hearts and we are going to go on until September 2024 if the Creator, nature, science so decides, because the people wanted it, so we are going forward to deepen the transformation of our country», he said.

He assured that the revocation of mandate will promote democracy and good government from the Executive Branch.
