Mexico received 14.6 million inbound tourists by air in 2021

#SecretaríaDeTurismo.- The head of the Ministry of Tourism (SECTUR) pointed out that the expenditure of international tourists by air was 16,223 million dollars, which is 96.2% more than the 8,270 million dollars captured in 2020, with 17.5% missing to reach the 19,662 million dollars of 2019.

He indicated that during 2021, the arrival of 35 million 891 thousand passengers on international flights was recorded, a level 78.6% higher than that recorded in 2020, with an additional 26.4% missing to reach the 48 million 792 thousand passengers of 2019.

Torruco Marqués detailed that U.S. airlines are the ones that transported the highest number of passengers to Mexico in 2021, registering 10 million 517 thousand passengers, 103.7% more than in 2020; and being only 0.3% away from reaching the 10 million 549 thousand passengers captured in 2019.
