SEP supports recovery of schools affected by Agatha in Oaxaca: Delfina Gómez Álvarez

#SecretaríaDeEducaciónPública.- In order to evaluate, verify and review the damage caused by Hurricane Agatha to elementary, middle and high schools in several municipalities of Oaxaca, and on the instructions of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, the Secretary of Public Education, Delfina Gómez Álvarez, began a two-day working tour of the state.

In the early hours of Tuesday, she toured the facilities of the Universidad para el Bienestar «Benito Juárez García» (UBBJG), in the municipality of San Pedro Pochutla, where she reiterated the support of the Mexican Government, through the Ministry of Public Education (SEP), to assist in the recovery and rehabilitation of schools.

At the site, he verified the damage to the main entrance and library doors and windows, as well as fractures in the classrooms and practice clinic for the 350 students of the Community Medicine course.

Accompanied by the head of the Oaxaca State Institute of Public Education (IEEPO), José Luis Rangel Bretón, and the municipal president of San Pedro Pochutla, Saymi Adriana Pineda Velazco, she also visited the campus shared by the «Gabriela Mistral» State Urban Elementary School and the «Lázaro Cárdenas» State Urban Elementary School.
