IMSS participates in the beginning of the COVID-19 vaccination day for children from 5 to 11 years old

#InstitutoMexicanoDelSeguroSocial.- The Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS), in collaboration with the 32 State Coordinators of the Roadrunner Brigade, is participating nationwide in the start of the application of the vaccine against the SARS-CoV-2 virus to children between 5 and 11 years of age, which will be carried out from June 27 to July 1 as part of the National Vaccination Program against COVID-19.

The general requirements to receive the drug are to be 11 years old or to be 11 years old before December 31, 2022, to present a birth certificate or CURP of the minor to prove his/her age, to be accompanied by an adult, to bring a printed and filled out vaccination record that can be downloaded at mivacuna.salud.gob.mx.

In Mexico City, in the Family Medicine Units (UMF) No. 20 and No. 162, located in the municipalities of Gustavo A. Madero and Tláhuac, respectively, immunization began this Monday for children 11 years old or older before December 31, 2022, from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm.

During this week, the Pfizer-BioNTec vaccine will be applied, with the support of the Social Security Nursing staff. This immunization day represents the start of vaccination for this sector of the population and each week the health authorities will announce which age group will follow.
