*Manuel Ojeda leaves a vital legacy to the performing arts through his brilliant career in theater, film and television* – @alefrausto, @cultura_mx =>

#SecretaríaDeCultura.- The Ministry of Culture of the Government of Mexico and the National Institute of Fine Arts and Literature (Inbal) regret the death of the first actor Manuel Salvador Ojeda, who participated in 291 films and was a renowned promoter of reading.

The Federal Minister of Culture, Alejandra Frausto Guerrero, expressed her condolences for the death of the actor, a graduate of the National School of Theater Arts (ENAT), whose work in soap operas and Mexican cinema she recognized.

Meanwhile, the general director of Inbal, Lucina Jiménez López, expressed her condolences to the family of the great actor and dedicated a long applause to Manuel Ojeda, who left his mark in theater, film and television. He added: Rest in peace to an actor who embodied outstanding roles, under the guidance of the best filmmakers and theater directors in Mexico.

A graduate of Inbal’s ENAT, he was awarded prizes such as El Heraldo and El Ariel. He shot around 291 films including El elegido (1975); La casa del sur, Canoa, El apando and La pasión según Berenice in 1976; Pedro Páramo, el hombre de la media luna (1978), El infierno de todos tan temido (1981), El extensionista (1991), Salón México (1996), El cometa and Los hijos del viento, in 1998, and La ley de Herodes (1999), among other productions, some of them directed by Felipe Cazals, Jaime Humberto Hermosillo and Arturo Ripstein.
