Issste trains staff in Mexican sign language

#ISSSTE.- With the participation of administrative and medical personnel, the Instituto de Seguridad y Servicios Sociales de los Trabajadores del Estado (Issste) taught the course «Mexican Sign Language», whose objective is inclusion and communication between deaf and hearing people, in addition to breaking down barriers to improve service to the hearing impaired.

In the auditorium of the «José Vasconcelos» Library, Laura Muy Roldán, Deputy Director of Customer Service, thanked on behalf of the General Director, Pedro Zenteno Santaella, the participation of the public servants for their initiative and effort to learn another language and added: «We have to be empathetic with this population, worry and take care of them so that they have the attention they need».

Through the Regulatory Direction of Supervision and Quality, headed by Israel Acosta Ibarra, the institute implements actions to improve the attention received by the hearing impaired in order to offer a quality service. «Therefore, I applaud the effort of wanting to learn in this course, as they are the arms of this sub-directorate and the service provided by Issste,» he said.
