Chihuahua’s «Infinite» handicraft, gastronomic and touristic richness arrives at Punto México / @TorrucoTurismo @SECTUR_mx >>>

#SECTUR.- Accompanied by the general director of the Ah, Chihuahua! Trust, Julio Chávez Ventura, the head of Sectur welcomed the authorities, master artisans and tourism service providers to this important space for promoting tourism, where visitors will have the opportunity to learn a little more about the culture of Chihuahua and purchase Rarámuri handicrafts made of clay, leather, wood, basketry and textiles, as well as typical sweets, dried meat, wines and liquors, to mention just a few products.

«In Mexico we know that handicrafts are the result of the creative work of our talented artisans, are of the highest quality, because they carry in their essence centuries of history and accumulated wisdom,» said Torruco Marqués.

He indicated that Chihuahua has tourist attractions such as the Copper Canyon, four times larger than the Colorado Canyon; the «Chihuahua to the Pacific» railroad, better known as the «Chepe»; and the archeological zone of Paquimé, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.

The Secretary of Tourism pointed out that efforts were joined with the Government of Chihuahua for the remodeling and adaptation of the Barrancas del Cobre Regional Airport, in the community of Creel, with an investment of 826 million pesos, a work that has already been concluded and in December of this year will begin operations, benefiting productive activities and tourism development in the Sierra Tarahumara.
