Canada, first country invited to participate in tourism security meeting to be held in January / @TorrucoTurismo @SECTUR_mx >>>

#SECTUR.- Accompanied by the head of the Chancery of the Mexican Embassy in Canada, Ambassador Arturo Hernández Basave, the head of the Ministry of Tourism (SECTUR) requested that travel alerts be focused and not generalized, mainly in states whose name coincides with that of its capital.

During the meeting it was agreed to strengthen communication and the security strategy for Canadian tourists. GAC representatives were very interested in the Green Angels program, given the importance of roadside assistance for Canadians traveling through Mexico, and therefore consider it relevant to strengthen this unique program.

Sylvia Cesaratto, assistant deputy minister of GAC, highlighted that the increase in Canadian tourists traveling to Mexico after the pandemic is notorious, and assured that pre-pandemic levels will soon be recovered. He recognized the work of Miguel Torruco for the initiatives undertaken to promote tourism.

The Secretary of Tourism held a meeting with Randy Boissonnault, Canada’s Minister of Tourism, with the purpose of strengthening the bilateral relationship, and where they laid the foundations for the post-pandemic tourism reactivation between both countries.

Minister Boissonnault and Secretary Torruco discussed areas of opportunity to strengthen air connectivity and segments such as indigenous tourism and wine tourism, among others.
