#Edoméx.- In the framework of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, Governor Alfredo Del Mazo Maza indicated that through the creation of the Gender Equality Curriculum Strategy, which is mandatory for all students in preschool, elementary, middle and high school, a profound change is sought in the new generations on the issue of rights and respect for women, so that the State of Mexico will seek to share this strategy with other states.

«This initiative of curricular strategy was launched, where from this school year, all preschool, primary, secondary and high school schools will be receiving one hour a week of Gender Equality as a mandatory subject, to sow in the present and future generations, the importance of equality, rights and respect for women,» he emphasized.

«At a national level, seven out of every 10 teachers are women, hence the importance that they also make this initiative their own so that it has continuity, and so that this initiative, which begins in the State of Mexico, can also be shared with other states,» she said.

During the Fourth Plenary Session of the Follow-up Mechanism for Security, Prevention and Justice Measures to Address and Eradicate Violence against Girls, Adolescents and Women, Alfredo Del Mazo pointed out that one of the effects of the pandemic is the increase in cases of domestic violence during confinement; in Mexico, he said, gender violence remains one of the main challenges to stability, security and peace.
