#Veracruz, #Ver.- At the presentation of the results of the holiday season, accompanied by the presidents of the chambers and business organizations, Mayoress Paty Lobeira de Yunes affirmed that in the Port of Veracruz, in 2022, the economic levels of the pre-pandemic were surpassed.

She emphasized that thanks to the excellent coordination with the security and civil protection forces, there was a white balance during the Guadalupe-Reyes holiday season. «In this regard, I would like to recognize the efforts of all federal, state and municipal authorities with whom we worked shoulder to shoulder to maintain order in the metropolitan area,» she said.

The Mayoress said that in this way, with guaranteed security, with the attractions of the city and its people, with an interesting cultural offer, a unique gastronomy in the country, and with the coordination between the business chambers and the municipal government, a high influx of visitors was attracted throughout the month, reaching a hotel occupancy rate of 93 percent on peak days; a percentage even higher than those reached during the Christmas season in the years prior to the pandemic.

«In fact, I am very pleased to be able to inform you that hotel occupancy for the entire year 2022 not only equaled that of 2019, but even surpassed it by 12 percent. Today we can affirm that the reactivation of the hotel sector in the Port of Veracruz is a reality,» she said.
