T-MEC Panel releases Final Report on automotive rules of origin / @SE_mx >>>

#SE.- The Panel constituted pursuant to the Agreement between the United Mexican States, the United States of America and Canada (T-MEC), today released its Final Report on the United States – Automotive Rules of Origin dispute (USA-MEX-2022-31-01).

According to its ruling, the Panel determined that the T-MEC allows vehicle manufacturers to consider the essential parts of a finished vehicle (engine, transmission, body, etc.) as originating, once, separately, such parts have met the minimum percentage of regional content (75%), using the alternative methodologies established by the same treaty.

In the coming days, Mexico will initiate a process of dialogue and cooperation with its trading partners to address the Final Report.

Mexico reiterates its commitment to dialogue as the best tool for strengthening North American trade integration.
