Weekly progress reports begin for each section of the Mayan Train, an integral development project / @lopezobrador_ @GobiernoMX >>>

#GobiernoDeMéxico.- Starting this Monday, the Mexican Government will present a weekly report on the construction process of each section of the Mayan Train to disseminate the progress of this priority project that generates jobs, promotes well-being, preserves the archaeological heritage and protects the environment.

Today, members of the Cabinet involved in the project and representatives of consortiums reported on the first section, which runs from Palenque, in Chiapas, to Escárcega, in Campeche, and consists of 226 kilometers, passing through seven municipalities and 106 localities.

Four stations, two stops, a maintenance base, a workshop and a garage are planned, explained Javier May Rodríguez, General Director of the Fondo Nacional de Fomento al Turismo (National Fund for Tourism Development).

There are twelve bridges, 383 transversal drainage works, four viaducts and 176 vehicular pedestrian and wildlife bridges as complementary infrastructure. In terms of total inputs, 517 thousand tons of ballast, 424 thousand pieces of sleepers and 29 thousand 500 tons of rails are estimated.
