#SICT.- The Ministry of Infrastructure, Communications and Transport (SICT) published, this Monday, the 2022-2023 Social Coverage Program (PCS 2022-2023) and the 2023 Public Site Connectivity Program (PCSP 2023).

The objective is to contribute to reducing inequality gaps between those who are connected and those who still live outside the digital world throughout the country.

With these programs, the SICT complies with the provisions of the Political Constitution of the United Mexican States in terms of guaranteeing the right of access of all Mexicans to information and communication technologies, as well as to broadcasting and telecommunications services, including broadband and Internet.

They also underscore the Ministry’s interest in contributing to the Universal Digital Inclusion Policy, which seeks to make telecommunications a service that is provided with emphasis on the most vulnerable sectors of the population under conditions of competition, quality, plurality, universal coverage, interconnection, convergence, continuity, free access and without arbitrary interference.

Consistent with these objectives, the PCS 2022-2023 identified 63,668 localities without Internet service coverage and within these, 5,900 were identified as Priority Attention Localities for Social Coverage.
