#IMSS.- The Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS) received two awards for Energy Efficiency Recognition 2022 in the Federal Public Administration (APF) and State-owned productive enterprises from the Ministry of Energy, for being the agency with the highest rating in energy efficiency and for having a vehicle fleet of more than 500 units with the best evaluation, registered in the Energy Efficiency Program of the National Commission for the Efficient Use of Energy (CONUEE).

At the ceremony held in the Multipurpose Room of the Ministry of Energy, IMSS Director General Zoé Robledo received both awards and congratulated the winners from the Tax Administration Service, Caminos y Puentes Federales, Liconsa, Sistema Portuario Nacional and Petróleos Mexicanos, who also received recognition in the areas of real estate, vehicle fleets and industrial facilities.

On behalf of the agencies and entities that received recognitions, he explained that for the purposes of the evaluation that resulted in recognitions to Social Security, 2 thousand 300 buildings of the Ordinary Regime were analyzed and as a result of the collaboration with the Ministry of Energy, at the beginning of 2020 the energy efficiency and sustainability project was implemented in municipalities and hospitals, which was carried out at a critical moment in the attention to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Zoé Robledo detailed that in 2021, 294 million pesos were invested to reduce the use of electric energy, including the replacement of lighting fixtures, replacement of obsolete equipment in powerhouses, maintenance of equipment and air conditioners from a preventive perspective, and a campaign to disseminate the culture of energy saving, actions with which a saving of 3.5 percent of the 617 units enrolled in the program was achieved.
