#ISSSTE.- This year, the Instituto de Seguridad y Servicios Sociales de los Trabajadores del Estado (Issste) will expand the coverage of the digital system platform Ambiente para la Administración y Mejora de Atención en Salud (Aamates), which currently operates in 14 pilot medical units, to reach 512 first level medical units in the country, including family medicine units and clinics and family medicine clinics with specialties, informed the Deputy Director of Information Technologies, Alejandra Fernández Vélez.

She specified that, in 2023, the entire technological infrastructure of the institute will be updated in information technologies, and this sub-directorate will continue to implement solutions and tools oriented towards the priority of strengthening and guaranteeing access to healthcare services.

With this strategy, the institute will have sufficiently solid IT support to attend to and face the modernization and digital transformation of the new Issste, which is being promoted by the director general, Pedro Zenteno Santaella, on the instructions of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, he added.

Aamates «will allow us to digitize the entire clinical care process, from scheduling a medical consultation, information in the clinical file, somatometry data (weight and height metrics), patient vital signs, outpatient consultation and issuing electronic prescriptions with digital signature, which is already connected to the pharmacy system».
