#SECTUR.- The delegation, headed by the head of the Ministry of Tourism (SECTUR), was received at the Mexican Embassy in Italy by His Excellency Ambassador Carlos García de Alba, and includes the president of the Association of Secretaries of Tourism (Asetur) and Secretary of Tourism of Nayarit, Juan Enrique Suárez del Real Tostado; and the Secretary of Tourism of Tabasco, José Antonio Nieves Rodríguez.

Also in attendance are the presidents of the National Confederation of Chambers of Commerce, Services and Tourism (Concanaco Servytur), Héctor Tejada Shaar; of the Mexican Group of Associations of Travel Agencies and Tourism Companies (GMA), Judith Guerra Aguijosa; of the National Council of Exporters of Services (Conexstur), Víctor Manuel Enríquez; on behalf of the Mexican Association of Travel Agencies of Mexico City (AMAV CDMX), René Luis Rodríguez Cano; the executive vice president of the Hotel Association of Cancun, Puerto Morelos and Isla Mujeres, Eduardo Domínguez; as well as representatives of Aeroméxico and Mexican incoming tour operators.

Torruco Marqués emphasized that this promotional tour is relevant in view of the upturn in travelers from Italy thanks to air connectivity, as Aeroméxico currently has four flights a week, which have 100% occupancy, and will soon be expanded to a daily flight.

«This will significantly increase the flow of tourists, and of course with the charters to Cancun, this year we are going to surpass the historical maximum we had in 2019,» he commented.

He also pointed out that a market with greater purchasing power is being sought, through which more foreign exchange income and average per capita spending is captured, which is how a nation’s tourism potential is measured.
