#EstadoDeGuanajuato.- «Today we cannot lose what we are doing for sports in Guanajuato, nor can we get used to receiving less.
«The bar we raise in sport we cannot lose it, we need those who come after us to commit even more, because backwards, not even to take flight.»
This was stated by the Governor of Guanajuato, Diego Sinhue Rodríguez Vallejo, during the flag ceremony of the delegations of athletes who will represent Guanajuato and Mexico in the Central American and Caribbean Games to be held in El Salvador, and the Parapan American Youth Games 2023, in Colombia.
The State President wished the athletes success to place in the medal standings and urged them to maintain good behavior during their stay in the competitions; but also asked them to be an example of life for children and youth in order to eradicate behaviors and lifestyles adverse to a peaceful society.
«We are raising them as super heroes for the new generations; but they also have a great responsibility, which is to carry high the name of Guanajuato and that implies the great responsibility to behave properly inside and outside the competition; the example has to be 24 hours a day, that is the great responsibility,» said the Governor.
For this year, we expect to have the best performance ever of Guanajuato’s athletes in the Central American and Caribbean Games, to be held from June 23 to July 8 in San Salvador; and we expect to have a participation of 40 to 45 athletes in approximately 16 sports disciplines.
