#IMSS.- The Technical Coordinator of Civil Protection of the Institute, Elizabeth Hernández Borges, indicated that constant communication is maintained with the medical units and facilities of the Social Security to follow up on the protocols according to the level of the Volcanic Alert Traffic Light.

The Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS) guarantees the continuity of its medical services in its Ordinary Regime and in the IMSS-Bienestar program, which is a priority during the volcanic contingency caused by Popocatepetl, as well as in daycare centers, offices, vacation centers and administrative buildings.

The head of the Technical Coordination of Civil Protection of the IMSS, Dr. Elizabeth Hernandez Borges, emphasized that constant communication is maintained with the medical units and facilities of the Social Security to follow up on the protocols of evacuation, withdrawal and care of a contingency according to the level of the Popocatepetl Volcanic Alert Traffic Light.

He pointed out that since the activation of the emergency, tours were conducted in coordination with the Decentralized Administrative Operation Bodies (OOAD), with those responsible for Civil Protection activities and with the medical area to identify risk areas and through the Internal Civil Protection Program to reinforce activities through the protocols.

«The instruction given to us by our general director is to review these protocols, explain to the workers what the phases of this alert are, so that they know and can foresee the continuity of operations and attention in case it is required in a new activation,» he said.
