#Cuautitl\u00e1nIzcalli<\/strong>, #EstadoDeM\u00e9xico<\/strong>. – In the framework of International Women’s Day, from the early hours of March 8, the Municipal Government of Cuautitl\u00e1n Izcalli began the commemoration of this important date by offering workshops and cultural activities in the Santa Mar\u00eda de Guadalupe las Torres neighborhood and the Infonavit Norte housing unit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Next to \u00abEl Gallinero\u00bb park, in the Infonavit Norte housing unit, women and girls learned self-defense techniques and participated in the painting of a mural with feminist expressions. At the Agora Cultural Center, in Santa Mar\u00eda de Guadalupe las Torres, the attendees listened to a historical remembrance of the women’s struggle and fragments of feminist poetry; the play \u00abEl vuelo de la mariposa\u00bb was also staged, the art exhibition \u00abFractales feministas\u00bb was inaugurated and the play \u00ab\u00bfQu\u00e9 veo cuando me veo?\u00bb was presented.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In this venue also coincided the first trustee, the councilwomen who make up the municipal body of Cuautitl\u00e1n Izcalli, as well as the Secretary of the City Council, to lead in the company of the municipal president Daniel Serrano, a protocolary act in which the first trustee, Mary Barboza, and the tenth councilwoman Sandy Chaparro, intervened with messages that highlighted the importance of this struggle for equality and women’s rights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During her speech, the first trustee of Cuautitl\u00e1n Izcalli highlighted the progress made by women in the public life of the country: \u00abToday, Mexico has a President, the State of Mexico has a Governor; today the municipality of Cuautitl\u00e1n Izcalli has a trustee, councilwomen, directors, advisors, firefighters, policemen and capable working women with great passion for service,\u00bb said Mary Barboza.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The main event took place at the Municipal Esplanade of Cuautitl\u00e1n Izcalli, through lectures, monologues and various cultural expressions such as theater, jazz music, singing, folkloric dance, Polynesian ballet, among others; means of expression to express their concerns and make visible the problems they face, the main one being the eradication of all forms of violence against women and girls.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
