#Tec\u00e1mac, #Edom\u00e9x<\/strong>.- The Tec\u00e1mac government has strengthened its emergency response measures to address the atypical rainfall in the northeastern part of the State of Mexico, which has caused severe effects and flooding in surrounding municipalities. It has declared a state of emergency alert.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So far, despite the torrential downpours, Municipal President Rosi Wong Romero said that the various hydraulic works carried out in Tec\u00e1mac since the previous administration have helped to mitigate the damage, especially in the low-lying areas.
These works have allowed for a 40-minute drainage time for accumulated water, allowing for prompt and effective emergency response and avoiding further impacts to the population.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Decentralized Public Agency for the Provision of Drinking Water, Sewerage, and Sanitation Services (ODAPAS) is carrying out dredging and cleaning of the drainage system and sumps, among other tasks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile, the Department of Ecology and Environment has intensified efforts to clean ravines, canals, and gutters, and prevent the accumulation of waste in green areas, as well as pruning trees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The mayor recommended that municipal residents not litter public streets, keep drains free of debris or objects that could obstruct them, and report any risky situations to the Civil Protection and Fire Department.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In response to these unusual rains, the municipal government has 262 public servants available to respond to emergencies, along with 30 vehicles and trucks. ODAPAS has 100 workers, two backhoes, four pressure-suction trucks, and 16 vehicles. Civil Protection has 22 personnel and eight firefighter units. In addition, more than 120 Civil Guard personnel are on duty on roads. The heavy rains allow Tec\u00e1mac to recharge its aquifers, which are used by the well system, which supplies vital water to 92 percent of the population.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
