#GobiernoDeM\u00e9xico, #M\u00e9xico. \u2013<\/strong>\u00a0The President of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, highlighted that according to the labor policy of the Fourth Transformation, on July 1 of this year begins the pilot implementation of the reform that recognizes the labor rights of digital platform workers, which was made in consensus with the companies and whose entry into force will be next January 1, 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00abThere have been many, many meetings with the main platform companies, it is not something that has been done without the companies. At the beginning they were not very much in agreement, but little by little they have been convinced of the importance of having labor rights. And also, it is a risky job. So, they have the possibility of having the support in case of an accident and everything that means the work of digital platforms. So, it is an agreement -I would say- of consensus with the companies. There are six pilot months to see how it works. It is already mandatory, because it is a law, but they are six months of pilot test so that we can start without the pilot tests, directly next year, as from January 1, 2026\u201c, he pointed out in the morning conference: \u201dLas ma\u00f1aneras del pueblo\u00bb.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Presiden emphasized that this reform does not change the flexibility with which those who work on digital platforms work, but rather gives them rights: \u00abThis is important because this reform does not change the way in which the worker is working. If they decide that they are going to work 4 hours a week, they are going to be able to continue to do so. It establishes a higher benefit for those who reach the minimum wage, but also the support for when there are accidents,\u00bb he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She emphasized that the objective is that the workers of these companies are recognized by transnational companies, therefore, those who work in digital platforms should not be afraid of losing their jobs, since, on the contrary, what is sought is that they have access to benefits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
