#Secretar\u00edaDeCultura<\/strong>, #M\u00e9xico.-<\/strong>\u00a0The Ministry of Culture of the Government of Mexico, through the General Directorate of Cultural Linkage, the Creation System and the National Coordination of Children’s Cultural Development – Wings and Roots, in collaboration with the Ministry of the Environment (Sedema) of the Government of Mexico City, opens to the public the \u201cChacuacos, fumaroles de agua\u201d Toy Library, in Building \u201cG\u201d of the Former Gunpowder Factory in the Fourth Section of Chapultepec Forest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the kick-off event, today Saturday, July 21, 2025, the Secretary of Culture of the Government of Mexico, Claudia Curiel de Icaza, highlighted the importance of an emblematic place now being transformed into an open play space for children and youth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cJust a few days ago the World Day of Play was commemorated and it seemed very important to us that, within the framework of that date, value was given to these play spaces, and that the enclosure, part of the \u2018Chapultepec, Nature and Culture\u2019 project, could be inaugurated.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He stressed the importance that \u201ca place that was once dedicated to the production of gunpowder and explosives is now a meeting point for the imagination and development of babies, children and young people; it is truly an achievement that would not be possible without inter-institutional collaboration\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event was attended by the Undersecretary of Cultural Development, Marina N\u00fa\u00f1ez Bespalova, and the head of Alas y Ra\u00edces, Guillermina P\u00e9rez, as well as the General Director of the System of Natural Protected Areas and Areas of Environmental Value, C\u00e9sar S\u00e1nchez Ibarra, among others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
