#SenadoDeM\u00e9xico, #M\u00e9xico<\/strong>.- The Metropolitan Areas and Mobility Commission, chaired by Senator Mariela Guti\u00e9rrez Escalante, approved to establish as an attribution of the municipal authorities the guarantee of parking spaces for people with disabilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It states that it is the responsibility of the municipalities to guarantee that all entrances to public places, such as government buildings, recreational centers, shopping centers, hospitals, among others, have parking spaces located as close as possible to the main entrances, with easy and quick access for people with disabilities or limited mobility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the ordinary session of this legislative body, in which senators endorsed with modifications the minute that reforms the General Law of Road Mobility, Guti\u00e9rrez Escalante considered that the issue is relevant because it coincides with the rights and principles recognized by the Constitution, the regulatory laws and international commitments of the State regarding the rights of persons with disabilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She commented that the commission modified the minute to eliminate the reference to \u201cnew constructions must guarantee these characteristics\u201d, because, he said, the matter of construction does not correspond to the object of the General Law of Road Mobility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
