#GovernmentOfMexico<\/strong>, #Mexico<\/strong>.- In the framework of the commemoration of the International Day for the Destruction of Firearms, the President of Mexico Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo<\/strong> celebrated the program Yes to Disarmament, Yes to Peace, -which has allowed 2 thousand 135 firearms voluntarily and anonymously surrendered to be taken off the streets- and encouraged that throughout the country the causes that generate violence be addressed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00abSo today, which is the International Day for the Destruction of Firearms and we also celebrate this great program \u2018Yes to Disarmament, Yes to Peace\u2019, I encourage you to address the causes that generate violence everywhere: in families, in the community, in neighborhoods, in our entire country. To embrace the flag of peace not only with our hands, but with our actions; to educate for coexistence; to sow hope where vengeance or the options of violence and death have grown. May our sons, daughters, grandsons and granddaughters speak of this program as something indispensable that was done at a moment in history for the future\u00bb, he emphasized in an event that took place in the atrium of the Basilica of Guadalupe where a module of the program is located.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She emphasized that the people of Mexico say \u201cYes to Disarmament, Yes to Peace\u201d, because weapons do not bring security, but silence in the streets, in homes and in hearts, and on the contrary, what they want is joy, happiness and love.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
