#FederalGovernment, #Mexico<\/strong>.- The Mexican Government, through the Ministry of Public Education (SEP), reported that the education budget is one of the areas with the largest increase in the 2026 Economic Package, with an investment of more than 1.1 trillion pesos (bp), representing an increase of 7.1 percent in nominal terms and 3.4 percent in real terms compared to 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo<\/strong> emphasized that this educational investment will translate into more resources for basic, upper secondary, and higher education, infrastructure, and scholarships, with the goal of ensuring that all students receive scholarships from the first year of primary school to the third year of high school.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThey used to say \u2018spending on education\u2019; we call it \u2018educational investment,\u2019 investment in education, because it\u2019s not an expense, it\u2019s an investment. So, this year we\u2019re allocating more resources to basic education, more resources to upper secondary education, and more resources to higher education; more resources to scholarships and more resources to improving educational infrastructure, to schools. That\u2019s the complete program,\u201d he stated during the morning press conference, \u201cLas ma\u00f1aneras del pueblo\u201d (The People\u2019s Morning Press Conference).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He explained that the expansion of the new Rita Cetina Universal Scholarship for Basic Education coverage for 2026 will be implemented in two phases: first, to grades 4, 5, and 6; and the end of 2026 will be with grades 1, 2, and 3.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
