#FederalGovernment,<\/strong> #Mexico.<\/strong>– On the 215th anniversary of the Cry of Independence, Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo<\/strong>, the first woman to lead this ceremony, highlighted the unsung heroines, indigenous women, and migrant sisters and brothers, and recalled that Mexico is a free, independent, and sovereign country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Before approximately 280,000 Mexicans gathered in Mexico City’s magnificent Z\u00f3calo, the Chief Executive waved the national flag on the main balcony of the National Palace. She received it for the first time in history from female military personnel belonging to the Heroic Military College: from the flag bearer, Military Police Lieutenant Jennifer Samantha Torres Jim\u00e9nez, and from the escort made up of Cadet Corporals Samira Michel Delgadillo Ch\u00e1vez; Itzel Sarahi Mart\u00ednez Tozcano; Karla Paola Guevara P\u00e9rez; and Cadets Andrea Carvajal Audelo and Yetzelany Gallegos Ortiz.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Likewise, the president revived a tradition inaugurated by former President Andr\u00e9s Manuel L\u00f3pez Obrador by mounting an Honor Guard during his tour of the Gallery of Presidents at the National Palace, in an unprecedented event, in front of the portrait of Leona Vicario, renowned military officer. in 1823 as \u201cMeritorious and Sweetest Mother of the Homeland\u201d, a historic event since, for the first time, a painting of a woman entered the main gallery of the National Palace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
