#SecretaryOf Economy<\/strong>,\u00a0#M\u00e9xico<\/strong>.- At the APEC Summit<\/strong> held in Gyeongju, before representatives from 21 Asia-Pacific economies<\/strong>, Secretary of Economy Marcelo Ebrard<\/strong> presented the business and investment opportunities<\/strong> that Mexico offers through the Plan M\u00e9xico<\/strong> initiative. During his intervention, he highlighted the country\u2019s strategic position within global supply chains and its commitment to advancing digital inclusion, technological development, and sustainable trade<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In his remarks, Ebrard<\/strong> recalled that \u201ctwo years ago, President Claudia Sheinbaum, even before taking office, instructed her Cabinet to design a plan to respond to the new global conditions we are witnessing<\/strong>.\u201d He added that the Plan M\u00e9xico<\/strong>, launched a year ago, includes a strong focus on digital expansion<\/strong>, ensuring access to technology, digital markets, and Internet connectivity for all. \u201cThis will likely be our country\u2019s main development effort over the next five years<\/strong>,\u201d the Secretary stated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Mexican official also emphasised the importance of modernising APEC and the World Trade Organization<\/strong>, particularly in areas of digital commerce and sustainable logistics<\/strong>, to ensure security and resilience in global supply chains<\/strong>. Within the framework of the summit, he held several bilateral meetings<\/strong> with ministers and economic representatives, outlining Mexico\u2019s growth and investment projects<\/strong> under the Plan M\u00e9xico<\/strong> framework.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During a meeting with Ryosei Akazawa<\/strong>, Japan\u2019s Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry<\/strong>, Ebrard<\/strong> provided an update on Mexico\u2019s internal consultation process<\/strong> ahead of the USMCA review<\/strong>, expressing confidence in the continued stability of the agreement that guarantees Mexico preferential access to the world\u2019s largest market<\/strong>. Likewise, in discussions with Nguyen Hong Dien<\/strong>, Vietnam\u2019s Minister of Industry and Trade<\/strong>, both officials agreed to strengthen bilateral cooperation<\/strong>. The Vietnamese minister announced that a business delegation will soon visit Mexico<\/strong> to explore investment opportunities, with the aim of balancing the current trade deficit<\/strong> between the two nations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
