#ISSSTE<\/strong>,\u00a0#Mexico<\/strong>.- The Institute for Security and Social Services of State Workers (ISSSTE)<\/strong>, under the direction of Mart\u00ed Batres Guadarrama<\/strong>, has marked a significant milestone with the launch of the organisation’s first Gerontogeriatric Playroom<\/strong>. Located within the \u00abDr. Dar\u00edo Fern\u00e1ndez Fierro\u00bb General Hospital (HG)<\/strong> in Mexico City, this facility is designed to promote the physical, emotional, and cognitive wellbeing<\/strong> of older adults<\/strong>. The dedicated space employs recreational activities<\/strong> and mental stimulation<\/strong> to enhance the quality of life for its users.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lorena Sandra Villeda Salazar<\/strong>, National Coordinator of Paediatric and Gerontological Playrooms at ISSSTE<\/strong>, confirmed that this is the first time the service features an exclusive physical space<\/strong> for hospitalised members aged over 60 years<\/strong>. This development \u00abhighlights the human focus\u00bb<\/strong> of the Dignified Treatment<\/strong> strategy, implemented by Director-General Mart\u00ed Batres Guadarrama<\/strong>. This strategy aligns with the broader goals of the \u00abSecond Floor of the Fourth Transformation,\u00bb led by President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Coordinator stressed the paramount importance of this initiative, stating: \u201cThe main priority is the Dignified Treatment of paediatric and older adult members through these spaces.\u201d<\/strong> This philosophy underscores the commitment to ensuring that all patients, particularly the most vulnerable, receive care that extends beyond clinical needs to encompass their emotional and social health. The establishment of this Playroom reinforces the ISSSTE’s<\/strong> dedication to holistic patient care<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Furthermore, Villeda Salazar<\/strong> shared that her department also provides mobile ludotherapy activities<\/strong> for the significant older adult population within the Institute, catering to those at their bedside or in common areas. This outreach extends to the \u00abLicenciado Adolfo L\u00f3pez Mateos\u00bb Regional Hospital (HR)<\/strong> in the capital, and the Tlaxcala General Hospital (HG)<\/strong>. The expansion of these therapeutic and recreational services<\/strong> demonstrates a sustained effort to reach more beneficiaries with this humanised care model<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
