#SecretaryOf Economy<\/strong>,\u00a0#M\u00e9xico<\/strong>.- The Ministry of Economy, in partnership with the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB<\/strong>) and the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC<\/strong>), recently hosted the Second CEO Workshop Breakfast<\/strong>, titled \u00abAdvancing the Care Agenda in Companies and Industrial Parks.\u00bb This crucial dialogue aimed to forge a public-private strategy for care, focusing on defining infrastructure models that foster productivity, social co-responsibility, and workplace inclusion<\/strong>. The consensus established that building care infrastructure is not merely fulfilling a historical debt to women, but represents a strategic economic investment<\/strong> for the nation’s future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Presided over by the Undersecretary of Industry and Commerce, Vidal Llerenas Morales<\/strong>, the event highlighted the tangible advantages of this infrastructure. He underscored that \u00abthe construction of care infrastructure within productive centres not only addresses a historical debt with women, but constitutes a strategic investment<\/strong> in productivity, innovation, and social welfare.\u00bb For businesses, these services can reduce staff turnover, enhance talent attraction and retention, and notably boost productivity by up to 20%<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Furthering this strategy, Mariana Montserrat Tajonar<\/strong>, Head of the IMSS Nursery Service, presented the CECI in Enterprise<\/strong> model, detailing its financial sustainability. Under this scheme, the company provides the land and construction, while the IMSS<\/strong> ensures proper standards, staff training, and provides a monthly fee per child, allowing the business to potentially recover its investment within five years at full occupancy. Additionally, Jennifer Alvarado<\/strong> of ECLAC<\/strong> presented a proposal to update the NMX-046 Industrial Parks Standard to formally include the mandatory provision of care services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Co-organised by the Ministry of Economy’s Director General of Operations, Mtra. Ana Gabriela Gonz\u00e1lez Gonz\u00e1lez<\/strong>, this event marks a significant step towards a \u00absociety of care\u00bb<\/strong> supported by a feminist industrial policy. The Ministry of Economy and its strategic allies are committed to advancing corporate policies that guarantee the right to care<\/strong>, strengthen national competitiveness, and promote substantive gender equality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
