#Alcald\u00eda\u00c1lvaroObreg\u00f3n<\/strong>,\u00a0#CiudadDeM\u00e9xico<\/strong>.-\u00a0The Mayor of \u00c1lvaro Obreg\u00f3n, Javier L\u00f3pez Casar\u00edn<\/strong>, strongly defended his first year in office before the Mexico City Congress, where he presented the 2026 Economic Package<\/strong> and requested an 11 per cent budget increase<\/strong> compared with the 2025 fiscal year. Among the most notable achievements highlighted was a 32 per cent reduction in high-impact crime<\/strong> and a tripling of patrol capacity<\/strong> through the acquisition of 125 new patrol vehicles<\/strong>, positioning the borough as the best-rated for police efficiency<\/strong>. The Mayor\u2019s vision for 2026<\/strong> includes consolidating these gains and launching a groundbreaking microsatellite<\/strong> to enhance urban planning<\/strong> and risk mitigation<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Mayor\u2019s strategy<\/strong>, known as Comprehensive Security Strategy 360<\/strong>, also requires funding to transform Base Plata<\/strong> into an Advanced Intelligence Centre<\/strong>, significantly improving response times for both the Police<\/strong> and Civil Protection<\/strong> services. Furthermore, L\u00f3pez Casar\u00edn<\/strong> outlined successes in recovering illegally occupied public spaces<\/strong>, citing the repossession of a car park on Avenida 5 de Mayo<\/strong> and the Colinas del Sur Ecological Park<\/strong>. The new budget proposal allocates 4,384 million pesos<\/strong> for the coming year, compared to the 3,950 million pesos<\/strong> approved for the current fiscal period.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The satellite, he said, \u00abwill allow us to generate information for decision-making in matters of urban planning, preservation of our natural resources, risk mitigation, among many other issues. The data will be available to everyone.\u00bb<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
