Timed for the monthly \u00abOrange Day\u00bb<\/strong> commemoration on the 25th, the leader emphasised that this recurring date must serve as an urgent call to arms<\/strong> against a pervasive issue that, regrettably, still endures in the 21st century.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Mayor stated that this act of memory and action is far more than a symbolic date; it is a critical reminder to tackle the ongoing crisis of violence against women, declaring that the administration is determined to \u00abguarantee the human rights of all.\u00bb<\/strong> P\u00e9rez Cruz<\/em> solemnly recalled the countless women throughout history \u00abwho have shown bravery and who have given their lives to fight against a world that opposes their fullness,\u00bb<\/strong> underscoring the severity of the challenge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Citing distressing figures from the United Nations, the Mayor noted that 736 million women<\/strong> globally have been victims of physical, emotional, or sexual violence in their lifetime. He asserted that this alarming statistic presents a clear challenge, obliging all citizens to reach an agreement on concrete proposals \u00abto eradicate any form of violence towards women.\u00bb<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
