The <strong>initiative<\/strong> <strong>saw<\/strong> the <strong>incorporation<\/strong> of <strong>7,226<\/strong> new <strong>beneficiaries<\/strong> into the <strong>Support<\/strong> <strong>Programme<\/strong> for the <strong>Welfare<\/strong> of <strong>Children<\/strong> of <strong>Working<\/strong> <strong>Mothers<\/strong>, alongside <strong>9,117<\/strong> new <strong>recipients<\/strong> of the <strong>Welfare<\/strong> <strong>Pension<\/strong> for <strong>Older<\/strong> <strong>Adults<\/strong>, <strong>solidifying<\/strong> the <strong>Government\u2019s<\/strong> <strong>resolve<\/strong> to <strong>cater<\/strong> for the most <strong>vulnerable<\/strong> segments of <strong>society<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In <strong>P\u00e1tzcuaro<\/strong>, <strong>Secretary Montiel Reyes<\/strong> <strong>officially<\/strong> <strong>announced<\/strong> that, <strong>acting<\/strong> on <strong>instructions<\/strong> from <strong>Presidenta Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo<\/strong>, the <strong>Support<\/strong> <strong>Programme<\/strong> for <strong>Children<\/strong> of <strong>Working<\/strong> <strong>Mothers<\/strong> would <strong>become<\/strong> <strong>universal<\/strong> throughout <strong>all<\/strong> <strong>indigenous<\/strong> <strong>regions<\/strong> of <strong>Michoac\u00e1n<\/strong> for <strong>children<\/strong> under <strong>four<\/strong> <strong>years<\/strong> of <strong>age<\/strong>. She <strong>clarified<\/strong> that this <strong>programme<\/strong> <strong>provides<\/strong> <strong>1,650<\/strong> <strong>pesos<\/strong> <strong>bimonthly<\/strong>, <strong>delivered<\/strong> <strong>directly<\/strong> and <strong>without<\/strong> <strong>intermediaries<\/strong> via the <strong>Welfare<\/strong> <strong>Card<\/strong>, with the <strong>explicit<\/strong> <strong>purpose<\/strong> of <strong>contributing<\/strong> to the <strong>care<\/strong>, <strong>better<\/strong> <strong>development<\/strong>, and <strong>nutrition<\/strong> of the <strong>children<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The <strong>focus<\/strong> then <strong>shifted<\/strong> to <strong>Morelia<\/strong>, <strong>where<\/strong> <strong>Secretary Montiel<\/strong> <strong>presided<\/strong> over the <strong>handover<\/strong> of <strong>Welfare<\/strong> <strong>Cards<\/strong> to <strong>new<\/strong> <strong>elderly<\/strong> <strong>recipients<\/strong> aged <strong>65<\/strong> and <strong>over<\/strong>, <strong>recognising<\/strong> their <strong>contributions<\/strong> to <strong>Mexico\u2019s<\/strong> <strong>development<\/strong> as a <strong>constitutional<\/strong> <strong>right<\/strong>.
