In 2022, Mexican Robotic Development to Reach Lunar Surface

#SecretaríaDeInfraestructuraComunicacionesYTransporte. – The Ministry of Infrastructure, Communications and Transport (SICT), through its decentralized agency, the Mexican Space Agency (AEM), informed that a technological robotics development, proudly Mexican, will reach the lunar surface in 2022.

The general director of the AEM, Salvador Landeros Ayala, explained that, for this year, a set of micro-robots, called «Colmena», developed with the great talent of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), is scheduled to be launched to the Moon.

«Since pre-Hispanic times, Mexico has been conducting in-depth studies of the cosmos and the Moon, and now, with the «Colmena» project, this national technology will make history by reaching our natural satellite, located more than 380,000 kilometers from Earth,» he said.
