In Tecámac, Centro de Atención Permanente para Adultos Mayores provides care to grandparents in neglect

#TecámacDeFelipeVillanueva, #EstadoDeMéxico. – The Permanent Care Center for the Elderly «Ikram Antaki», which is in charge of the DIF system of Tecámac currently serves 27 grandparents, who for different reasons are in a situation of abandonment by their relatives.

Such is the case of Don Armando, where neighbors of the community of Santo Domingo reported to the Civil Guard, that this person remained several hours sitting in the street trying to flee from the abuse of his son.

Although he only remembers that he is a native of the state of Oaxaca, he could not provide more information about his relatives or address, so he was transferred to the Permanent Care Center for the Elderly, where staff of the municipal DIF will provide the necessary care for his physical and emotional recovery.

The administration headed by the mayoress, Mariela Gutiérrez Escalante, informed that when a grandparent enters the «Ikram Antaki» Permanent Care Center for the Elderly, they are provided with general nursing care, assisted feeding, medical and psychological services, adequate food, medicines and a dormitory.
