In Veracruz, Mayoress Patricia Lobeira Inaugurates the Collective Exhibition San Sebastián Mártir 2022

#Veracruz,  #Ver. – As part of the international commemoration of the patron saint festivities of San Sebastian, patron saint of the city of Veracruz since 1647, Mayoress Patricia Lobeira Rodríguez inaugurated the collective exhibition «San Sebastián Mártir 2022» at the Museo de la Ciudad, in which 33 plastic artists participated.

The Mayoress highlighted the importance of holding this type of events that reinforce identity and make people know a little more about the local culture. «Celebrating these festivities year after year means continuing to preserve and keep our traditions alive,» she said.

The Fiestas Patronales de San Sebastián were rescued and celebrated again since 2008, taking place already in a traditional way a pilgrimage with the image of the Patron Saint through the streets of the Historic Center of Veracruz, as well as a religious ceremony in the Cathedral, in addition to different activities that culturally enrich the Veracruz society.

Mayor Patricia Lobeira acknowledged the joint efforts between her government and the Diocese of Veracruz, to which she thanked for their participation and collaboration to carry out this event.
