#BenitoJuárez, #CDMX.- Mayor Santiago Taboada’s proposal to issue a first-of-its-kind regulatory ordinance for untethered bicycles and skateboards was unanimously approved by the Benito Juárez City Council.

The issued bando benefits the local economy and contributes to protect the environment, complying with the 2030 agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals.

Mayor Santiago Taboada’s proposal was unanimously approved this Tuesday by the councilors of Benito Juárez, to issue a regulatory ordinance on bicycles and skateboards without anchorage for the Mayor’s Office. Santiago Taboada highlighted that this is an instrument of government in the matter to strengthen micro-mobility, because it offers more options to move to those who live, study, work or visit the demarcation.

«It is a good start so that we can take a step forward, we can rethink a mechanism that is the consideration in the sense that it could be in investment in cycling infrastructure that could even be copied in other mechanisms of consideration in the City, for example, the issue of parking meters, where we have proposed that it would have to have an impact and mitigation in the area where the public consideration is,» he said.
