IMSS ONCOCREAN will develop a strategy to support primary caregivers of children with cancer

#InstitutoMexicanoDelSeguroSocial.- Authorities from the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS) informed mothers and fathers of pediatric oncology patients that a support strategy will be developed at the State Reference Centers for the Care of Children with Cancer (ONCOCREAN), with the aim of providing primary caregivers with better biological, psychological, social and spiritual tools to deal with the situations they face on a daily basis.

At the head of the eighty-seventh meeting of the working group with the mothers and fathers of children with cancer, Dr. Celida Duque Molina, Director of Medical Benefits of the Social Security, pointed out that the link with the IMSS Volunteers at a national level will be sought, as well as the support of social workers and psychologists «to be hand in hand with you in these interventions that are so important in the care of minors».
