Federal government makes adjustments at AICM for air traffic control; Navy assumes security at facilities

#GobiernoDeMéxico.- President Andrés Manuel López Obrador assured that the federal government is working on air traffic control at the Mexico City International Airport (AICM) in order to speed up the take-off and landing of flights to avoid saturation.

«We are already taking measures and we are going to finish bringing order, also due to the non-conformity (…) Measures will continue to be taken because the presence of the Navy was already a decision that was made», he underlined.

In a morning press conference, the President affirmed that it was a good decision to designate security at the AICM to the Secretariat of the Navy.

«It has to do with a greater and better surveillance, more security and that is being achieved, that is what we are advancing in,» he remarked.

The Chief Executive clarified that airlines have not been forced to transfer their services to the Felipe Angeles International Airport (AIFA), although there is still some resistance from companies.
