2.6 million cruise passengers to arrive in Mexico from January to May 2022

#SecretaríaDeTurismo.- The head of the Ministry of Tourism (SECTUR) informed that during the January-May period of this year, the arrival of 1,248 cruise ships was recorded.

He pointed out that the ports that received the highest number of cruise passengers in Mexico were: Cozumel and Mahahual, in Quintana Roo; Ensenada, Baja California; Cabo San Lucas, Baja California Sur; Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco; and Mazatlán, Sinaloa; which represented 95.6% of the total number of passengers.

Torruco Marqués detailed that in the first five months of the year, Cozumel, Quintana Roo, registered 498 arrivals, and 1,18,617 passengers; Mahahual, Quintana Roo, had 251 arrivals, with 523,197 cruise passengers.

From January to May 2022, Ensenada, Baja California, registered the arrival of 140 cruise ships, with 226 thousand 5 passengers; and in Cabo San Lucas, Baja California, 116 vessels arrived with a total of 213 thousand 850 passengers.

During this period, Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, registered the arrival of 89 cruise ships and 179 thousand 25 passengers, while in Mazatlán, Sinaloa, 69 arrivals and 149 thousand 161 cruise passengers were reported.
