Discounts for Teachers and Students traveling by Rail or Bus are in effect

#SecretaríaDeInfraestructuraComunicacionesYTransporte.- The Ministry of Infrastructure, Communications and Transportation (SICT) has in effect a discount program for teachers and students who travel by railroad or use the federal passenger transportation service during the summer vacation.

The fare reductions are 25 percent for teachers and 50 percent for students, valid until August 28 of this year, in accordance with the school calendar of the Ministry of Public Education (SEP), as well as during the vacation periods approved by the various universities of the country for the same school year.

Beneficiaries must present to the railroad and bus transportation service providers the corresponding school credential in force, with the following characteristics: name and seal of the school; name and photograph of the holder and, if applicable, account or registration number.

The credentials of the educational institutions with which teachers and students may accredit the right to the discount are: those integrated to the education systems of the Ministry of Public Education; Education Directorates or Departments in the states; UNAM; IPN; Universities throughout the Republic; Institutes; Free Schools of Law, Commerce and Homeopathy; Colegio de Bachilleres; and the schools incorporated to the aforementioned.
