From January to July 2022, passenger traffic at ASA’s airports increased 35.7%

#SecretaríaDeComunicacionesYTransporte.- From January to July 2022, the 19 airports of the Airports and Auxiliary Services Network (Red ASA) registered a 35.7% increase in passenger traffic, which is equivalent to a total of 2,143,951 people, higher than the 1,580,129 users that received service during the same period in 2021.

During this period, 15 airports of the ASA Network reported growth in passenger traffic: Nuevo Laredo, with an increase of 86.6%; Chetumal, 63.9%; Loreto, with 51.2%; Puebla, 45. 6%; Puerto Escondido, 40%; Ciudad Obregón, 37.3%; Campeche, 36.3%; Tepic, 25.2%; Colima, 23.7%; Ciudad del Carmen, 13.6%; Ciudad Victoria, 11.9%; Tamuín, 11.7%; Tehuacán, 8.7%; Guaymas, 2.2%; and, Uruapan, with a growth of 1.1%.

In the first seven months of 2022, a total of 75,936 air operations were carried out in the 19 terminals that make up the ASA Network, 6.7% more than those carried out in the same period of 2021, when 71,147 were recorded. Ten of the terminals operated and managed by ASA are the ones that registered percentage increases in this item: Puebla, with 44.8%; Tamuín, 38.7%; Puerto Escondido, 25.5%; Chetumal, 24.6%; Loreto, 16%; Tehuacán, 14.4%; Poza Rica, 12.6%; Colima, 12%; Tepic, 8%; and, the Ciudad del Carmen airport, with 2.2%.

In terms of air cargo moved in the ASA Network, during the first seven months of 2022, seven airports showed positive figures, totaling six million 081 thousand 531 kilograms, which represents a growth of 222.1%, with respect to the one million 887 thousand 833 kilograms of the period January – July 2021. The Chetumal airport reported the highest growth with 7318%; followed by the airports of Puebla, with 324.8%; Colima, 37.2% increase; Puerto Escondido, 24.3%; Campeche, 19.8%; Matamoros, 6.8%; and, Ciudad del Carmen, with 6.5%.
