#GobiernoDeMéxico.- President Andrés Manuel López Obrador met at the National Palace with relatives of Gilberto Bosques Saldívar to present them with the Memory of the World certificate awarded by UNESCO to the diplomat for his humanitarian contributions during World War II.

«Everything related to Gilberto Bosques, who was from Puebla, a revolutionary, a diplomat who had a lot to do with saving the lives of persecuted and exiled people, not only Spaniards, but from all over the world; a truly exemplary man,» he said in a video posted on his social networks.

The President acknowledged the efforts of the Director General of the Diplomatic Historical Collection of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Laura Beatriz Moreno Rodriguez, dedicated to preserving the special archive that pays tribute to him.

Dr. Beatriz Gutiérrez Müller highlighted Bosques Saldívar’s trajectory and his fraternity in giving refuge in Mexico to politically persecuted people of different nationalities and creeds.

«I believe that Gilberto’s work is an example for all the generations that today we have the fortune of reading and learning about these efforts (…) We must value them in their right dimension», she said.
