#BenitoJuárez, #CDMX.- As part of Mayor Santiago Taboada’s social commitment with vulnerable groups, the delivery of economic support to 81 children, adolescents, women and men residents of Benito Juarez who suffer from some type of cancer and require or are in the process of treatment was carried out, called «BJ accompanies you», with the aim of reducing the economic impact of the families.

The beneficiaries who complied with the guidelines, who were selected through transparent calls and clear rules, received 25 thousand pesos each, in which, making a budgetary effort, the Mayor’s Office of Benito Juarez allocated 2 million 25 thousand pesos.

In this sense, Patricia Bartolo, inhabitant of the Portales neighborhood, thanked the support of the Mayor’s Office for her father who suffers from bone marrow cancer, which will be used for medicine and transportation. «When there is no medicine what we do is to check with relatives so that they can help to buy the medicine, but this help is really going to be for my dad, for the things that he needs for medicines, that he cannot find them in the Insurance, so he can absorb those expenses, it is good that these supports are being given to him. I want to thank Mr. Taboada and all his team, both social work and development, I really appreciate their support and their dignified treatment of all the people.

For her part, Minerva Herrera, a resident of the Del Valle neighborhood, said that this resource will be used to pay the hospital expenses of her husband, who suffers from prostate cancer with metastasis in the spine. «It is a truly sensational support, thank you very much to the Mayor’s Office, very kind of you to make these programs that benefit us all. I feel a lot of happiness and support with me, because my husband is in the hospital right now and I really need him a lot, he is very ill. Thank you very much to the Mayor’s Office… thank you very much and I am grateful for this support.
