Health Tourism consolidates thanks to the work of the three levels of government and the private sector / @TorrucoTurismo @SECTUR_mx >>>

#SECTUR.- As part of the Training and Development Program for Health Tourism Clusters promoted by the Ministry of Tourism (Sectur) in coordination with the Ministry of Economy, representatives of Mexico’s Health Tourism clusters attended the 3rd Medical + Health Forum & Expo 2022, which took place in Tijuana, Baja California, and made an inspection visit to learn about the specialized tourism offer of this segment in this city.

Sectur, through the General Directorate of Tourism Product Innovation, in coordination with the Baja California Ministry of Tourism (Secture), organized these activities, in which 25 participants from the Health Tourism clusters of Mexico City, Veracruz, Jalisco, Baja California, Cozumel, Puebla and the State of Mexico took part.

Also in attendance were representatives from Joya Hospitals, David Vequist from the University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio, Texas, as well as medical facilitators from Tijuana and Rosarito, B.C., Mexico and Idaho, United States.

As part of the activities to strengthen the Health Tourism segment, the participants visited the facilities of the International Institute of Metabolic Medicine (IIMM), which will host the Center for the Future of Surgery (CFS) of the University of California, San Diego (UCSD); the only one outside the United States, soon to be inaugurated.
